What is the IAAP? Founded in 1942 as National Secretaries Association, the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) is the world’s leading organization of office professionals with over 40,000 members and affiliates in 600 chapters worldwide. The association works in partnership with employers to promote excellence and recognition of the profession. IAAP is the originator and sponsor of Administrative Professionals Week and Administrative Professionals Day observed the last week of April each year.  Who is an Administrative Professional? An individual who possesses a mastery of office skills, demonstrates the ability to assume responsibilities without direct supervision, exercises initiative and judgment, and makes decisions within the scope of assigned authority. Titles in the administrative field are extremely varied, so membership is not based on title but on the type of work performed. |
